Slightly creepy entrance to an older style apartment block, south of Caobao Lu - these buildings are usually 6 stories high (the maximum allowed without an elevator) and usually have 2 or 4 units off each floor of each stairway (in other words, no internal corridors)

A circular pedestrian overpass at Longcao Lu and Longwu Lu intersection - even though there are strips for the blind on almost every sidewalk in Shanghai, one wonders how they think someone in a wheelchair is supposed to negotiate these overpasses!

This old guy makes little models of bicycles out of copper wire and rubber tubing, with moving pedals, crank and wheels - he makes them while he sits there on the sidewalk! French Concession near Shanxi Lu Station

Caobao Lu Station on Line 1 (Red Line) of the Shanghai Metro - it's about 100m away from where I live. Line 1 was Shanghai's first subway line and was only opened in 1995, but today there are 8 lines in operation.
