A road-widening in progress - this is Wanping Nan Lu south of Longhua Lu where it used to be a small lane (whereas the rest of Wanping Lu is a fairly major road, you can still see the curb of the road here) - buildings along both sides have been demolished leaving exposed sides of the buildings (the buildings to either side form part of what was probably an older village that has been swallowed by surrounding development) - in this case, development is not occurring along the road, only enough space has so far been demolished for the wider road, however further south along the road are a number of massive new developments and subway Line 12 under construction as well as access points to the Longhua Port area along the Huangpu River and there is significant truck traffic along this road
